K.B. CLARKE ASSIGNED 200 FLOOD CLAIMS IN TWO WEEKS
After a torrential downpour just before Christmas holidays on December 19, 2000 our phones started ringing. Within the first two hours we had over 30 new claims and by days end we were up to 60 new assignments. We knew that many people might not even know their basement was flooded till the end of work when they went home so we couldn’t even imagine what the next few days may bring. Our first step was to set up a catastrophe team. We had one person fielding calls, one person assigning them and scheduling appointments, several others organizing emergency teams and ensuring we had enough drying equipment.
