K.B. CLARKE REBUILDS OLD MILL TAVERN
On Nov 26, 2001 K.B. Clarke was called to a fire which originated from the Old Mill Tavern and encompassed an entire city block of devastation. The Old Mill Tavern is a turn of the century, 3 storey building encompassing over 15000 Square feet of floor area and at the time had an additional two storey 20,000 square foot, self storage building behind the tavern. The fire department actually demolished a section of the self-storage area to keep the flames from spreading to the tavern and several tenants in the main historic building. Next door over 40 vehicles at an auto dealer were ignited as well as the dealership building itself, with the total damage and claims likely exceeding 5 million dollars.
K.B. Clarke was asked to perform many services including:
total co-ordination of the cleanup of the main level tavern
total demolition and contents sorting of the 20,000 square foot storage building
meeting and dealing with dozens of customers and returning unaffected contents
Securing the back second storey building roof and exterior walls, as well as all affected trades and vendors
Removal, cleaning and safe storage of timbers, antiques and furnishings
Construction of 2500 Square feet of office space and total residing of the original building
Currently as of November 2002, the construction of new office space is one month underway and should be completed by February 2003.
