Dartmouth K.B. Clarke Rebuilds Historic Building in Lunenburg After a neighboring business caught fire in late December 2004 totally destroying their building, K.B. Clarke was called in to restore our customers neighboring three-storey historic building, which was significantly damaged due to its close proximity. K.B. Clarke crews and subtrades completed extensive emergency repairs to roof and siding as well as relocating their business and salvageable contents to a new temporary location. Our customers’ building is classified as a historic structure, which always presents a challenge when trying to restore. Our crews removed large amounts of plaster, flooring, mouldings, while at the same time ensuring the reconstruction met current building codes and some modern conveniences. The overall goal was to keep the historic feel and look. The job took several months to complete but our customer is now back in their new and modernized building. ![]() Before ![]() During |
