    Labour Day Weekend Flooding

K.B Clarke Disaster Kleenup crews were inundated with calls on the Labour day weekend. Many residents in the Halifax Regional Municipality experienced extensive flooding resulting from the 55 mm or more of rain that fell on Friday August 31, 2007. Basements were flooded primarily in the Dartmouth area though calls were received from as far as Enfield, Head of Jeddore and Hammonds Plains. Drainage backflow and sump pump failures were the primary causes as they couldn't keep up with the rising water table. Our crews worked around the clock extracting water, removing wet contents and carpets, tearing out wet floors and walls, disinfecting affected areas and installing industrical drying equipment to start the drying process and alleviate any potentially hazardous mould growth.

We want to thank our customers for their patience and understanding during this very busy time.
