Fire Restoration
The Company performs numerous large and small fire repairs for over 20 insurers as well as independent adjusting firms. The Company has been certified by the IICRC (Institute of Inspection Cleaning and Restoration Certification) as a company that has received specialized training in this field. We carry all products to remove soot and fire residue from various sources.
KBC can carry out a complete general contract using our cleaners, large warehouse for storing and cleaning of contents, competent tradesman and numerous subtrades. We carry thermal foggers, spray equipment for smoke sealing, ozone units for difficult odours and all other specialty equipment. Our experience restoring smoke ravaged buildings is continually growing. To date we have performed everything from small electrical fires to several hundred thousand dollar losses often coordinating dozens of subtrades as well as our own staff.
Oil Spill Remediation and Cleanup
K.B. Clarke carries all emergency oil booms and equipment to contain the majority of domestic oil spills. We have access to all the necessary excavation and trucking to remove contaminants as well as pumper trucks to remove liquids. Our inventory contains Oil-Dri for clean up on hard surfaces, specialty cleaning and deodorizing agents, oil absorbent pads, air scrubbers and fans for ventilation of contaminated areas as well as a 24 hour staff. We have worked in conjunction with the Department of Environment as well as several oil companies, insurers and environmental engineers. We can provide a pre-priced list of all hourly rates for labour, machinery, disposal, landscaping and paving, prior to commencing a project. We are fully insured with Environmental Impairment Liability.
Odour Removal
Bacteria, fire, urine, feces, oil are all examples of the type of odours the professional restorer faces almost daily. K.B. Clarke has been certified by the Institute of Inspection, Cleaning and Restoration Certification (IICRC) in odour control as being a fully trained company. We have a large inventory of chemicals, thermal foggers, masking agents, ozone units, neutralizers and antimicrobials which are used in eliminating odours in buildings as well as contents. While it is difficult to neutralize all odours, we have been consistently successful in eliminating a great deal, in effect saving insurers and homeowners a lot of money in replacement costs and inconvenience. Contents Cleaning and Packout
K.B. Clarke carries all supplies, inventory sheets, dollies, and moving vehicles to make even the largest packout of damaged contents proceed quickly, which can mean the difference in cleaning and repairing furnishings as opposed to disposing and having to replace them at a much greater cost. All contents are inventoried as to their condition at the time of removal, and if this is not possible they are photographed or videotaped. This eliminates many fraudulent damage claims as well as protecting both the customer and ourselves. They are then professionally boxed and loaded on our vehicles and delivered to our climatized warehouse. Here they can be cleaned, restored, assessed or possibly disposed of if they are too badly damaged. All contents are again checked after their initial cleaning as to their response. From there we can determine whether outside assistance i.e., electronic experts, re-upholstering etc, may be required.
This large inventory of often thousands of items is kept on computer for security as well as cost reduction in rewriting the responses of various items.
The cleaning is carried out with the proper sanitizing agents, deodorants, degreasers or whatever is required to properly complete the restoration process.
Carpet and Upholstery Cleaning
Carpets as well as sofas and furnishings are expensive items which should only be cleaned by trained and competent professionals. At K.B. Clarke our cleaners carry the proper chemicals, have been taught fibre identification and most importantly have been IICRC trained. This eliminates damaged furnishings and dissatisfied customers. It also ensures that if a stain can possibly be removed - our team of professionals can do it, and compared to replacing expensive carpets and furniture, professional cleaning prices are the deal of the century.
Water and Sewer Cleanup
Floods can and do happen! There is nothing we can do to turn back the clock; but quick, professional cleaning, drying and dehumidification can and will eliminate a host of future and present problems. Water damage can happen from so many sources it is impossible to consider them all, but common ones include: rising water tables from heavy rains or snow, hot water tanks, frozen pipes, clogged sewer or water mains or even a bathtub overflowing. Each situation is unique and may require a different approach. Obviously a room full of raw sewage can not be cleaned the same way as an overflown sink full of clean drinking water!

Clarke has a large inventory of chemicals, extractors, pumps, turbofans, dehumidifiers and almost everything else required to remove liquids of all kinds and lessen the resulting primary and secondary damages. Quick response is the key to successful drying as bacteria multiply very quickly given moist, humid conditions and after 24 hours items that may have once been restored may then require replacement.

This division was started in 1996 and has blossomed into a very integral part of our operations. The Cleaning Division performs residential maid services, construction cleanups, disaster cleanups as well as contents cleaning, after fire, smoke or water situations.
K.B. Clarke staff are uniformed, trained, bonded and use only environmentally friendly cleaning solutions. Prices are very reasonable and the service is, of course, 24 hours a day. We can provide detailed estimates or work with hourly rates, but in either instance you'll be receiving good value from dedicated, trained personnel.
